General
- Features [top]
The Wiki allows to view and create pages in the virtual office. These pages are so to speak improved Notes: you can control the layout (HTML), create hyperlinks to other pages or to data in the virtual office (currently documents and notes). The Wiki is also used to display messages in the home page (after login), that all users see when they connect.Just like most tools, you have a personal Wiki and there is also a Wiki for each group you belong to.
- Wiki and Documents [top]
The Wiki tool is used to view and create pages only: the pages, as HTML files, are stored in the "wiki" folder in the Documents. You can therefore perform some actions on the pages in the Documents tool or in your virtual drive.
Personal Wiki
- Add a page with the Wiki [top]
When you first open the Wiki, the first page is automatically opened in edit mode. This page is called "index.html" and may not be renamed or moved.Enter some text in the edit zone. Use the style buttons to format your text if you wish: just as in a word processor, select some text and click on a button. A button bar (similar to a word processing button bar) appears above the body of the message. Move the mouse over each button to get its legend.
If you wish to use HTML directly, click on the last button, named <>.
Click on Save below the edit zone to save the page.
- Edit a page with the Wiki [top]
Go to the page and click on Edit in the menubar. Make the edits and click on Save. - Delete a page with the Wiki [top]
Go to the page and click on Delete in the menubar.Note: by deleting a page, you might also delete the only link leading to another page. After deleting a page, check that all your Wiki pages can still be accessed using hyperlinks.
- Add a page with the Documents [top]
Just add a new document in the Wiki folder. The Wiki homepage must be called "index.html". The new document may be added using the Documents (Web) or the virtual drive.NB: You must use UTF-8 format for the HTML page. Use UTF-8 compliant software to create it.
The Wiki page may be created with an HTML editor (Dreamweaver, etc.) or a text editor (Notepad, etc.). If you link from one page to another, make sure to use the following syntax : <a class="WikiReference" href="sw?type=wiki&state=10&WikiPage=PAGE_NAME">. Note that in this syntax the extension (.html) must be removed. If your page is called "test.html", you must use "test" as page name.
- Edit a page with the Documents [top]
Download the page on your computer, make the edits and send the page back with the same name. - Delete a page with the Documents [top]
Click on the Trash next to the page or delete the page in your virtual drive.Note: by deleting a page, you might also delete the only link leading to another page. After deleting a page, check that all your Wiki pages can still be accessed using hyperlinks.
- Go to a page [top]
Display the list of all pages by clicking on Select a page in the menubar. Click on a page to display it (in view mode). - Go back to the homepage [top]
You can go back to the homepage (index.html) anytime by clicking on Homepage in the menubar.

Hyperlinks to a page
- Create a link [top]
If a Wiki has several pages, you must link them using hyperlinks. The "Select a page" feature is not available for users who don't have the right to edit the Wiki.In the Wiki tool, you can easily create a link to another Wiki page. If it does not exist yet, it is automatically created.
- Select some text to create the hyperlink.
- Click on the first button in the 2nd row, labeled "Create a link to another Wiki page".
- Enter the destination page name in the pop-up window. Do not enter the page extension (.html) as it is automatically added. If you enter the extension, the page will be called "page.html.html".
- Click on Save to confirm.
- Click on the hyperlink to display the new page.
- Enter some text.
- Click on Save.
- Edit a link [top]
It is not possible to edit a link: you have to delete it and then to create it again. - Delete a link [top]
Delete the hyperlink text. This action has no effect on the link destination: the destination page is not deleted. But if you delete the only link leading to that page, it will be impossible for users to access it.
